Family Weekend

What a fun-filled family weekend.  Friday was a Palmer family dinner at Fridays.  Broccoli is apparently a very fun toy...Tessa was entertained by cut up broccoli for a good while.

Saturday was the Bullock family reunion and a wedding shower for Alysia and Nick--congratulations!  We went swimming at Keith and Kristine's and enjoyed ourselves until Tessa had a mini-meltdown.  Too many hours without sleep.  Mom and dad learned their lesson.  We are now working on a more strict schedule.  Pray it works.

Anyways, last night Aunt Sally and Uncle Bill had all of the Helmick side over for a cookout to see Aunt Mary Lynn and Allen, who were in from Illinois.  Jeffrey stayed home to meet his girlfriend's parents.  Very exciting.  Tessa enjoyed her first alcoholic beverage.  Don't worry, just the bottle, not its contents.

In other exciting news, Tessa is also moving to the convertible car seat.  Once she realized she could sit up on her own, she wants NOTHING to do with her infant car seat.  The convertible for my car is on order...should be arriving today or tomorrow.  Hopefully my UPS delivery driver is more on top of things than Cortny's.  (View her blog if you don't know what I'm talking about).  I ordered a Britax Marathon from Babies 'R Us with some gift cards we had and yesterday we bought an Evenfo Triumph for Nate's car.  Tessa sat in the front of the cart at Target for the first time and seemed to enjoy herself...she'll get to do it again today at the grocery.  Anyways, point of all this car seat information was that it was quite difficult to install.  Nate and I took on the venture yesterday during Tessa's afternoon nap.  I was the brain and Nate was the brawn.  (kidding, honey...)  It took quite a bit longer than expected, but now that it is done, I do feel confident we installed it correctly.  Hopefully the Britax will be a little less complicated...
