There's lot's of reaching,
Rolling,

Before I Forget...

Pictures from a recent bath night. We've totally got this bath thing figured out, as it is normally me by myself with both kids doing baths while Daddy is at work. Bathe together, then Morgan gets lotion and clothes while Tessa continues to play. Then Tessa's turn while Morgan plays in the exersaucer. I'm sure it will all change once Morgan becomes mobile...
Tessa being silly after her bath!
And more silliness!
And before I forget...drumroll please~

Nine Month Stats for Morgan:
29.5 inches (85%) and 20 lb. 14 oz. (50%) Long and lean!

Three Year Stats for Tessa:
38.5 inches (87%) and 36 pounds (88%) Very consistent. I like that. :)

We had a great 3-year and 9-month checkup, respectively, this afternoon. I was glad Daddy was able to join us, as rumor had it the 3-year checkup involved wearing a gown and we already have issues with the doctor in general with Miss Tessa. Ironically, the one thing I feared the most was the one thing she loved! Tessa was eager to get in the gown and didn't want to take it off at the end. Who would have thought?

Morgan had a great time ripping the exam table paper into shreds. Tessa got an A+ from the doc for development, and while he didn't grade Morgan, I'm going to assign him an A-. Apparently he should be waving bye bye now. Well, he doesn't but it's not due to lack of ability. It's due to lack of Mommy teaching Morgan to wave bye bye. Whoops! It is now on my to-do list for the week. Our doctor was not worried about him not crawling yet because he said it is not a matter of not having the strength to do it, more so the motivation of him wanting to do it. All in good time. For now, we'll work on bye bye...

Fun with Tessa

Morgan goes to sleep pretty darn early, usually by 6:00 p.m. Which leaves a lot of time in the evening for fun activities with Tessa. Nate, Tessa, and I all love this time, as we get to spend a lot of quality time with our little girl before we all head to bed. I try to use this time to get out things that are harder to do when Morgan is awake, like baking brownies, play the Wii, or messy play-doh. Although now that Morgan is self-feeding, pretty much most activities are possible, as he eats for a good 45 minutes straight sometimes. Ah, a nice contained, content baby!

A tisket, a tasket, our kids are in a basket!

The other morning both our kids wanted to get in this lovely laundry basket as I was folding laundry. And so they did. And Nate took about 10 pictures of them. And not one of them had both kids looking at the camera. So here is Morgan looking at the camera...
And here is Tessa looking at the camera.
Silly kids!

We are enjoying a snow day today (though it really hasn't started snowing yet). I've already changed the sheets and am working on the second load of laundry. After that, we'll surely do a lot of playing indoors...and perhaps in the snow too!

A Very Snow White Birthday!

Tessa had a wonderful 3rd birthday party on Saturday night! Grandparents, Aunts, Uncles, cousins, and friends were there and Tessa had a great time playing with Snow White, singing, dancing, eating, opening presents, and singing Happy Birthday (in no order pictured whatsoever).
While my parents purchased this princess castle for her mini princesses, she decided the full-size Barbies fit in there nicely.
Tessa was thrilled that her best friends, Anna, Addison, and Cooper were there...along with all her cousins.
Opening presents. Mommy and Daddy got Tessa a Leapster and she has been thoroughly enjoying playing the Tangled game on it. More playing to come!
Here is Snow White with all the little princesses. I think all the adults were quite impressed with the "Snow White" who came to our house. One of my favorite lines from the evening was when Tessa pointed at a picture in the book Snow White was reading and exclaimed, "That's you!"
The craft for the afternoon was sticker scenes. Nice and simple.
And Tessa was thrilled with the gold magic wand she got to carry around all evening.
Singing with Snow White.
And a nice picture of Tessa with Morgan before the party. While she was donned in full Snow White apparel and worships the princess, she still was our ever-shy girl and ran and hid behind the couch when Snow White first arrived. Good thing she came around quickly, as I did not want my money to go to waste. A very fun party to say the least! Thanks to everyone who came!

Happy 3rd Birthday, Tessa Rose!

Three years ago, this beautiful little girl entered our world with a bang (and a lot of crying!)
She continues to amaze us every day! We love you, Tessa Rose! Happy 3rd Birthday!

Pinkeye, Ear Infections, Doctor Visits, Oh my!

My week has been interesting. Last week, some other kids at the sitter had pinkeye, so I figured it was coming our way. And right I was...Tessa started with it Saturday and we started meds immediately. I had some leftover ointment from the last time she had pinkeye so that is where we began. But she is stronger this time and was really fighting it, so we headed to the doctor again on Monday after school because Morgan had started it as well. While we were there, they checked his ear infection from the week before and he still had an ear infection and it hadn't improved so they changed his antibiotics. I should have asked them to check Tessa's ears while we were there, but didn't.
So we headed home with new meds and plans for me to take Tuesday off. I thought I'd luck out with a snow day, but ended up having to use a sick day as Mason was pretty much the only school who had school. Tuesday night, Tessa started screaming that her ears hurt and was a clingy mess. The screaming and just laying there crying sent us to Children's Urgent Care where she too was diagnosed with an ear infection, this time a double one with "a lot of pus in one ear." Lovely. So we got another prescription and Nate headed off to the closest 24 hour pharmacy. As of today, we are pinkeye free! Hopefully the ear infections will clear up, though everyone has been pretty happy today considering. We have a big party this weekend...
A beautiful little girl I know is turning three and we want her to be well enough to truly enjoy her princess party, especially the visit from Snow White.
And on another note, isn't our dog a saint?
