So, when we moved back it wasn't really the best financial decision we could have made. It was great for the kids, and great for us to be back with family. But there were a couple of little caveats. 1) We had to pay Target back for a part of the relocation up to Minnesota. 2) We had this lovely rental home in Savage, MN through the end of March 2012. We decided to make the move anyways and took the risk of buying a house. We were prepared to pay double for a few months and set a closing date on 11/1 so that our first mortgage payment wasn't due until 1/1 to buy us some time. Our things have been sitting in the MN house until we close in a couple of weeks and lo and behold Friday brought great news! They had been trying to rerent the house up there since we left in August and they found new renters! It was the best phone call I could have received right before we buy our new house. The only downside is the new renters wanted in ASAP, so now our things are being loaded on Wednesday of this week and sitting in a moving van for a week and a half, scheduled for delivery on 11/2. We cannot wait!!! And who knows...maybe now we can buy some furniture for those rooms that are going to be empty...
And in other Palmer news, Nate and I celebrated our sixth anniversary yesterday. We enjoyed an evening out sans kids, went to dinner, furniture shopped, and topped it off with take-home cheesecake from The Cheesecake Factory. Yum, yum! (I have also realized by this anniversary date that I have very, very few pictures of my husband and I from recent years, but this picture captures the most important things we've done in six years, even if it is a tad dated). Happy anniversary!
