Bad Mommy

St. Nick came to our house last weekend (a day early since Nate was going to be out of town on the real day) and brought lots of treats for Tessa, Morgan, and even a couple of small things for Mommy, Daddy, and Lucy...
The biggest hit was clearly the Dora castle, which I bought from someone off our district bulletin board at work, along with a Dora talking house (which is now at my parents' house), as well as a swimming pool, playground, Rapunzel tower, and more. It was quite insane how much Dora stuff one woman could have. But she has been playing with it for hours everyday, so I'd say it is a hit. I hope she still likes the big dollhouse that Santa brings in a couple of weeks. St. Nick also brought Daddy some new socks; a candle for Mommy; new jammies, panties, and a princess coloring book for Tessa; and some little cars, the Cars movie (which I know he won't be able to watch for awhile, but St. Nick was thinking ahead) and some sippy cups. St. Nick was pretty practical this year!
Here's a close-up of the stockings, which were embroidered by a friend of mine from grade school. You can catch a glimpse of Buddy the Elf hiding out in Lucy's stocking as he makes his way around our house watching the kids for good behavior.
And while Tessa may be a very good mommy to her Bitty Baby (below), the reason I titled this post what I did: no pictures of Morgan anywhere. Yes, that's right. I didn't manage to take a single picture of our little man opening his stocking or playing with his new cars. Nope, not me. Bad Mommy.
I have exactly 7 days of work left in 2010. Woo hoo! I'm am ready for Christmas (and looking forward to some time for wrapping the rest of the presents and baking today while Tessa goes on a Christmas train ride with Grandma and PaPa). She is expecting the Polar Express. Good luck with that one, Grandma and PaPa. She has the movie memorized. :)

If you ever want to do a real Polar Express ride (and take a trip to Akron), the Cuyahoga Valley Scenic Railroad is one of the only railroad companies in the country to have the rights to do a true Polar Express ride. You ride in your jammies, they serve hot chocolate, the story plays over the speakers, Santa comes on, and every kid gets a bell. It's pretty awesome! We did it once when I was younger.

I love the idea of hiding the elf in the pet stocking. We are running out of places to put ours.
