This was what we were greeted by this morning at the bottom of our basement steps. That is where the kids' toys are and we were headed down to play. I saw something and assumed it was a piece of a toy, until I got a bit closer and it nearly jumped on me. I screamed, Tessa ran and hid upstairs. Morgan, well, he roamed around and could care less about it. The toad ran and hid once it saw us underneath the megablock wagon. I cornered it with a random bucket and had Tessa fetch me a spoon and a book. After announcing she wasn't choosing a book she likes, she came down with Morgan's favorite book and a spoon. I spooned the darn toad into the bucket, covered it with the book, and raced outside with it. Yet another "great" thing about this lovely rental house...After all the excitement at home, we tried out a new park I had read about called Nicollet Commons. It is in the town next to ours and has a great splash park. Since it is pretty difficult for me to manage both kids at the pool, a splash park sounded perfect. It was HUGE!

Basically, it was set up to look like a winding creek, with lots of different beds and rocks to climb. There was also a main plaza in the middle with shooting water and an amphitheater seating area as well. I loved that I could kind of let Tessa explore since the water was so shallow and keep a closer eye on Morgan. Great place! We'll definitely be back.

Glad the toad didn't show its face until we left to go home or I would have been the one screaming. Park looks like fun. We should have gone there. Love the BLUE water shoes.
