Feels like Vacation

My parents are here!!!! It has only been a day and a half and already we have done so much! Minneapolis is feeling like a vacation destination to me right now, as we take the folks around. We visited the American Girl doll store, where my mom was enamored at the doll hair salon. Thank goodness Tessa isn't asking for that yet. I'd love to know the cost of a doll hair-do. I'm sure outrageous!
We had a fabulous lunch at Famous Dave's Barbeque, which was extremely good. Unfortunately, I spent most of our lunchtime chasing this little man around, who preferred to be out walking around as opposed to eating.
But he did take his very first amusement park ride on Blue's Skiddo. Basically, it circled and went up and down. He seemed to like the ride. He really liked the buttons. Can't wait for summer days at Kings Island in our future! On another note of firsts, Tessa also ride this ride for the first time by herself with no adult or friend. She was a little scared, but did just fine!
Though I think she preferred riding next to someone. This roller coaster was particularly fun for both, and she also loved the log flume, which she rode with Papa. (Unfortunately, no picture as we missed them coming down).
After some great afternoon naps, my mom and I headed to Sand Point Beach with both kids. I'd been wanting to take them but wasn't willing to do it by myself with Morgan, who is definitely a mischievous little wanderer. And it was definitely a two-adult job! Both kids had a blast!

Building sand castles, playing in the beach, snacks on sandy towels. It almost felt like a vacation. Almost.
