Penguin Days

My friend, Melody, blogged about the penguin parade at the Cincinnati Zoo, and this weekend we decided to check it out. I actually thought Tessa would be more into it than she was. She enjoyed watching them, but definitely wanted to keep her distance, even asking to sit in the stroller at one point. Very rare for the girl who always says, "I walk." I think she was surprised by how loud they were. Ironically, now that I've downloaded these pictures, she keeps asking to see the penguins and even said she wants to go back. Maybe if there were fewer people there she might like it more...

Doesn't she look thrilled here? I think it was a combination of a lot of people and a slight cold. Remember that pinkeye? Well, I'm pretty sure I spent $50 on copays and prescriptions for something that wasn't even pinkeye. I ended up bringing her back to the pediatrician yesterday since it had been a week and it still hadn't gone away. I'd been told it should be gone within 2-3 days. So I saw a different doctor yesterday who explained it was definitely not pinkeye, but a clogged tear duct. Go figure. All that pain of the medicine for no good reason. So this doctor told us to stop the pinkeye ointment immediately and massage the tear ducts. One massage later, and no goop. There was $50 down the drain....although better to be safe than sorry.
