Back to School

I had a great first two days of school. My students seem really nice so far, and I somehow surprised myself with my last minute organization. I didn't spend too much time this year at school before our two work days, but I am happy to say that somehow, I got it all done.

Nate was off work this week and redid our entire landscaping (pictures to come). He did a great job, and is pretty tired. He was going to paint our two-story entry as well, but when the time came and he saw the ladder and looked up to see how high it was, a painter was in order. I hired a painter whom I met at Kings Island a few weeks back and he'll be coming in October to paint the entry, kitchen, and all the downstairs hallways. Woo hoo! I can't wait for it to be finished.

This picture was taken two nights ago before Tessa went to bed. She insisted on wearing her tutu over her pajamas, so I went with it (and completely forgot she had it on) until she woke up in the morning. I tried changing her clothes to go to the sitter's house, and she broke down in full meltdown mode when I tried removing the tutu. Therefore, Tessa ended up wearing it to the sitter's all day on Friday. Kelly said she ended up getting it off of her at a diaper change, but then when she saw me taking it home, it was time for the tutu again. Thankfully now, it is safely hidden in the washing machine. On a positive sitter note, Tessa did not cry once when leaving her and has been absolutely perfect for our sitter. (I was a little nervous, so this is a BIG deal). In fact, on the first day when I arrived to get her, she completely ignored me, grabbed Kelly by the hand, and started walking downstairs. No loving for the mama, but I'm glad she is happy there.

This year, I have four students who live in my neighborhood. I've already seen two of them outside in the two days since school started. Kind of funny. Anyways, this weekend, the Palmer family has a busy one. I have a baby shower today for Nate's cousin, followed by brunch tomorrow with his dad and family, who will be in town from Michigan. And tomorrow night, we are having my family over for dinner to celebrate my mom's birthday. I'll leave off the number...

I'm hoping to pick my blogging back up. The last few weeks have been insanely busy as I hurriedly finished up my ULV classes and prepared for school. I think life should calm down for a little while now. Have a wonderful weekend!
