Summer Days

First off, cheers to Nate on his promotion - no small feat in this economy and we are very proud of our hubby and daddy, respectively. Tessa and I went to buy a balloon and hung it on our mailbox to welcome daddy home from work today.

I am feeling a little bittersweet this week, as summer really is coming to an end. Tessa and I have been having a lot of fun, though in all honesty, I do think it will be good for her to be back at the sitter. She needs to be around other kids, and a little separation from the mama is good in her case. She really, really is attached to me.

On another note, we've been going to the pool a lot. Ironically, Tessa does not enjoy this hippo toy in the pool, though does love wearing it around the house...

And the bittersweet feeling came back when I went to my classroom yesterday for the first time. Tessa "helped" me work in my room for a little while until my mom came to get her and I really got down to business. Decorating and lesson plans for the first week or two should be finished after tomorrow.

I think Tessa is going to like school. She was mesmerized by the lockers and loved running up and down the halls. I hope she still feels like that 11 years from now when she enters my school as an actual student!

Wow, Congrats Nate! That's awesome. (You should celebrate the promotion with CABLE.) Hehe.

Cable, what's that? Just kidding...

Maybe once football season starts we'll get it, but I actually prefer not having cable. We're much more productive with our time.
